About the Role
The Destination Services Officers are customer-facing roles responsible for providing visitors to the region with high level concierge and information to improve their experience in the region. This service takes place before, during and after the visitor leaves - across multiple touchpoints online and face-to-face.
These positions are an important part of the visitor journey. They are responsible for painting a picture of what our region has to offer, recommencing experiences that suit visitor preferences, and disbursing visitors to our towns and villages to enjoy a diverse range of activities and experiences.
As ambassadors for the Mudgee Region, these roles are also responsible for supporting the entire Destination Experience Department across Destination Services, Destination Engagement and Destination Marketing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering exceptional front-line customer service to visitors and residents
- Providing accurate and engaging information about local attractions, events, accommodation and experiences
- Managing enquiries via phone, email, online channels and in person
- Supporting retail operations including sales, stock control and merchandising
- Promoting visitor engagement initiatives, competitions and digital subscriptions
- Collecting visitor and sales data to support reporting and regional promotion activities
- Assisting with tourism events, activations and promotional activities as required

You will bring:
- Experience working in a Visitor Information Centre, Retail or Hospitality Business (2 years minimum)
- Proven ability to deliver friendly, professional customer service in a visitor-facing and retail environment
- Strong knowledge of the Mudgee Region, the experiences, products, services and events
- Proven experience or confidence to manage administrative tasks and reception activity
- Reliable and flexible with availability to work a set roster between the hours of 9am – 5pm across Monday-Sunday, based on an ongoing fortnightly roster
- Current RSA and RSAT accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Class C Driver's Licence
Working Arrangements
These roles are permanent part-time opportunities, with two positions available, each working 49 hours per fortnight.
These positions operate on a fixed two-week rotating roster that repeats on an ongoing basis. The roster is designed to meet operational requirements and includes both weekday and weekend shifts.
Position 1
- Week 1: Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday - 9:00am–5:00pm (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break each shift)
- Week 2: Thursday and Friday - 9:00am–5:00pm (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break each shift)
Position 2
- Week 1: Monday and Tuesday - 9:00am–5:00pm (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break each shift)
- Week 2: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - 9:00am-5:00pm (with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break each shift)
Additional hours may be available from time to time to support operational needs, tourism events and promotional activities. Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, occasional after-hours events and some out of region events (Sydney, Newcastle, Central Coast, Central West) is essential.
Salary
The salary range being offered for these part-time positions is $1,828.14 - $1937.47 gross per fortnight plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $47,531.64 - $50,374.22 gross plus superannuation (dependent on skills, qualifications and experience).
