About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic, customer-focused individuals to join our Box Office team for an exciting lineup of world-class events in the heart of Melbourne. Conveniently located within Melbourne's vibrant events precinct, our venues offer easy access to public transport and the opportunity to be part of some of the city's most exciting live entertainment experiences.
This role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while managing ticket sales, event enquiries, admissions support, and transaction processing in a fast-paced event environment. As the first point of contact for patrons, you will play a key role in creating a seamless and memorable guest experience from arrival through to event entry.
We are seeking candidates with strong ongoing availability, particularly across weekends and peak event periods. Flexibility and a commitment to regular shifts will be highly regarded.
Mandatory Requirement: You must currently hold, or be willing to obtain, a valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) if successful in your application and offered the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Process ticket sales, exchanges, upgrades, and reprints using venue ticketing systems.
- Assist patrons with event information, seating options, accessibility requirements, and general enquiries.
- Accurately process cash, EFTPOS, and other payment transactions.
- Balance cash drawers and complete end-of-shift reconciliations.
- Operate ticketing and point-of-sale systems efficiently and accurately.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when required.
- Assist with event-day admissions and guest arrivals.
- Collection and verification of guest tickets/accreditations and support smooth patron entry into events.
- Maintain accurate booking records and customer information.
- Work collaboratively with venue management, event staff, and security teams.
- Ensure compliance with venue policies, ticketing procedures, customer service standards and Workplace Health and Safety measures.
- Contribute to a positive and welcoming experience for all guests attending the venue.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience working in a box office, ticketing, customer service and events environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Great with technology and confident using a range of computer systems and software.
- Ability to quickly learn new ticketing, point-of-sale, and event management platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when processing transactions.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Professional presentation and a positive attitude.
Highly Regarded
- Previous experience operating ticketing platforms
- Experience handling cash, balancing tills, and processing EFTPOS transactions.
- Experience working in theatres, arenas, stadiums, festivals, live entertainment venues, or major events.
- Familiarity with customer service standards within the entertainment, ticketing, or events industry.
