HR Systems and Data Analyst
Key Purpose
The HR Systems & Data Analyst supports the organisation through workforce data analysis, reporting systems, and workforce management platforms. The role focuses on collecting, integrating, and analysing workforce data from multiple sources, developing analytical dashboards, and maintaining reporting tools that support workforce planning and operational decision-making.
The position works closely with operational teams to ensure workforce systems and reporting outputs provide accurate, reliable insights to support organisational planning, service delivery, and business and contractual requirements.

Role Essentials
Key accountabilities
DATA ANALYTICS AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE
· Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to support workforce analytics and operational reporting.
· Build structured data models in Power BI, including DAX measures, for reporting and trend analysis.
· Analyse workforce and operational data to identify trends in staffing levels, absenteeism, overtime exposure, and workforce utilisation.
· Prepare and deliver monthly reports used for client invoicing, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contractual and business requirements.
· Interpret data and present findings in a practical way to support operational and strategic decision-making.
· Analyse workforce trends to support recruitment planning, including recommendations on headcount requirements.
· Support the design and implementation of data-informed process improvements and identify opportunities to reduce administrative workload and improve operational efficiency.
DATA INTEGRATION AND REPORTING INFRASTRUCTURE
· Perform data transformation and preparation to consolidate data from HRIS, payroll, and workforce management systems.
· Develop and maintain SQL queries and structured datasets to support reporting and analysis.
· Work with system-generated data extracts and support integration of workforce data, including using the Deputy API to access and structure data for reporting and analysis.
· Maintain structured and reliable datasets to ensure consistency across reporting outputs.
SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION AND AUTOMATION
· Administer HR Information Systems (HRIS), including system configuration, user access management, and monitoring of data integrity.
· Develop and maintain automated workflows using Microsoft Power Automate to capture and track form submissions, supporting compliance, audit requirements, and record-keeping processes.
· Maintain workforce system data to ensure employee records, roster structures, and reporting outputs remain accurate.
· Support ongoing improvements to reporting processes and system usage.
ROSTERING & HR SUPPORT
· Maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of the rostering process whilst ensuring compliance with legislative and Award requirements
· Analyse workforce requirements to support adequate daily staffing levels and long-term workforce planning (up to 12 months in advance)
· Manage roster updates and ensuring Deputy is updated, including leave, shift changes, and onboarding of new employees.
· Monitor sick calls and filling open/empty shifts to ensure contracted numbers are filled.
· Assist with monitoring company policies and procedures to ensure compliance to legislation.
· Support the People & Culture Manager in the development implementation of HR processes and systems.
· Support the HR team with administration duties when required.

Skills and Experience
· Degree Qualification + minimum 12 months' work experience
· Experience in a data-focused or analytical role with strong reporting and analysis capability
· Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
· Experience developing dashboards and data visualisations using Power BI
· Working knowledge of SQL for data extraction and structuring datasets
· Experience working with HRIS, payroll, or workforce management systems
· Previous rostering experience with exposure to Australian employment law and HR procedures highly desirable
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
· Experience working with structured data and maintaining data accuracy and consistency
· Understanding of data handling, confidentiality, and information management requirements
· Willingness to learn and improve technical and analytical skills over time
Job Requirements
Mandatory Requirements prior to recruitment
· Satisfactorily pass the NSW (P800) Police Check
· Satisfactorily pass any additional security check requirements from CSNSW if requested

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
