As a Senior Forest and Fire Operations Officer - Training, you'll deliver technical training to on-ground forest, fire and land management personnel who make a real difference across Victoria.
Working within an experienced capability and development team and integrating across the highly skilled Forest Fire Operations Division, you'll coordinate training events, deliver skills maintenance activities, coach/mentor staff and help ensure training is delivered safely, effectively and to a high standard.
What you'll do
Undertake delivery of operational, technical and fire training activities across the Barwon South West Region.
Provide training, coaching, instruction and mentoring.
Lead and support operational crews tasked to training activities and help build a positive team culture.
Contribute to bushfire preparedness, response and recovery operations
Contribute to forest, fire and public land management activities.

Possess relevant accreditations and demonstrated experience in a range of technical capabilities related to bushfire response and delivering forest environment works.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
Demonstrated experience and understanding of Forest and Fire Operations Division responsibilities and delivery of programs including forest management, road management, fuel management & emergency preparedness and response.
Current accreditation (or substantial progress towards) Cert IV Training and Assessment (TAE40122) including demonstrated compliance with documentation requirements and experience in training and delivery of competency assessment for field based or technical skills.
Demonstrated experience in the planning, coordination and delivery of training relating to technical and operational roles and skills.
This position is ongoing, flexible within the Barwon South West region, Victoria.
You’ll have the chance to explore and protect stunning landscapes whilst earning a competitive salary ranging from $75,361 to $82,298 per annum, plus superannuation.
