Tiny's Sandwich Bar is looking for an experienced Cook to join our team. This is a full-time, ongoing position, working 38 hours per week, based in Sydney CBD, NSW.
The Cook will be responsible for the following duties:
- Prepare, season and cook a variety of food items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
- Assist with food preparation for daily service, ensuring ingredients are prepared efficiently and safely.
- Portion, plate and present meals consistently to meet the venue's quality and presentation standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared and served in a timely manner during busy service periods.
- Monitor food quality throughout preparation and cooking to maintain consistency and customer satisfaction.
- Store food appropriately and rotate stock in accordance with food safety requirements.
- Assist with receiving, checking and storing deliveries of food supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation and assist in keeping kitchen equipment and utensils clean and in good working order.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Assist with stock control by reporting low stock levels and minimising food waste through proper portion control and storage practices.
- Work collaboratively with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
What we're looking for:
- At least 2 years of experience working as a Cook in a commercial kitchen.
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) is preferred but not essential where sufficient industry experience can be demonstrated.
- A valid Food Safety Certificate (or equivalent) and a sound understanding of NSW food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork skills, reliability and attention to detail.
