BIPO is a labour hire and workforce solutions provider supporting Australian businesses with skilled technical personnel. We are seeking an experienced ICT Support Technician to provide specialist technical field support for our client supplying and operating automated storage and warehouse technology systems – Modula Australia Pty Ltd.
The successful candidate will work across computerised control systems, hardware and software integration, operator interfaces, system connectivity and warehouse management system functions. The role will involve a combination of technical support, system configuration, troubleshooting, commissioning support and customer assistance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, test and support computerised control systems, software applications and associated hardware.
- Configure and support Windows-based control panels, HMI/operator interfaces and warehouse management system (WMS) functions.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, connectivity and system-control issues.
- Review system requirements, software parameters, machine configuration, user workflows and technical issues.
- Test and verify communication between computer hardware, software, peripheral devices, operator interfaces and control systems.
- Support network and device connectivity, including Ethernet, USB and related system interfaces.
- Assist with system commissioning, operational testing and validation of inventory, stock-location and order-picking workflows.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers and system users, including operator training and basic troubleshooting.
- Advising on technical manuals, system specifications, diagrams and commissioning documentation.
- Prepare configuration records, diagnostic reports, service records, troubleshooting notes, training records and technical handover documentation.
- Liaise with clients, technical teams and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and support reliable system operation.
- Attend client sites and travel interstate where required.
Skills & Experience
- Relevant qualification in ICT, computer systems, electronics or a related technical discipline; or at least three years of relevant technical experience and/or relevant vendor certification.
- Experience with automated storage, Vertical Lift Module (VLM) or similar warehouse automation systems will be highly regarded.
- Relevant manufacturer or vendor training in automated storage or control systems will be highly regarded.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and maintain accurate technical records.
- Strong communication skills and confidence providing customer-facing technical support and user training.
- Ability and willingness to travel to client sites as required.
