Details: Housing Assistance, within the Health and Community Services Directorate, delivers social housing and homelessness services that support some of Canberra’s most vulnerable community members. Managing a portfolio of more than 11,000 properties, the division is responsible for providing safe, affordable and appropriate housing while working collaboratively with government and community partners to improve social and economic outcomes for individuals, families and the broader community.
The Client Services Branch is at the forefront of this work, leading the delivery of frontline housing services and supporting tenants, applicants and people experiencing housing insecurity. The branch operates in a complex service delivery environment, working with clients who may be experiencing homelessness, family and domestic violence, disability, mental health challenges, chronic health conditions or other circumstances that impact their housing stability. Through strong partnerships and a commitment to person-centred service delivery, the branch strives to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes for clients and the community.
We are seeking an experienced and values-driven executive who can provide strategic leadership while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and service delivery. The successful candidate will be a collaborative and resilient leader with a demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, build productive stakeholder relationships and navigate complex and sensitive issues with sound judgement and empathy. They will be committed to delivering quality services, fostering a positive workplace culture and driving continuous improvement to achieve meaningful outcomes for Canberrans.

This role is an existing Executive position with established core responsibilities, which may expand over time to incorporate additional functions and business areas in line with organisational priorities and consultation outcomes.
All ACTPS Senior Executive Service members are required to exercise the functions of their position in accordance with the closing the gap principle ACT Closing the Gap Implementation Plan - ACT Government Transparency Portal
Remuneration: The position attracts a remuneration package ranging from $296,877 - $306,035 depending on current superannuation arrangements of the successful applicant. This includes a cash component of $261,668.
Contract: The successful applicant will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for a period of up to five years. Prospective applicants should be aware that long-term engagements are tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly.
