Where you'll be working
Child and Family Health Services operate within Integrated and Community Health to address the health and developmental needs of children and families in Western Sydney.
Community Paediatrics service within WSLHD
Multidisciplinary team including allied health, nursing and paediatricians
Reports to the Child and Family Allied Health Service Manager
Based at Mount Druitt and Parramatta Community Health Centres
Works with external partners including schools, GPs and government agencies
What you'll be doing
You will deliver advanced social work services to children and families with complex needs in a community setting.
Provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments and therapeutic interventions
Deliver family-centred, child-focused care using evidence-based models
Coordinate services and liaise with internal and external agencies
Manage high-risk cases including child protection issues
Lead clinical consultation, supervision and quality improvement activities

Essential Criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Selection Criteria:
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
2. Extensive demonstrated experience in the delivery of services to vulnerable and at-risk families with children aged up to 18 years and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
3. Demonstrated high level clinical experience working with families with severe and complex parental psychosocial and mental health concerns.
4. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in working with the impact of psychosocial and mental health problems, violence, abuse, and neglect on child development, parenting capacity, parent-infant attachment and provision of appropriate interventions.
5. Demonstrated experience in working with, escalating and managing child protection concerns.
6. Demonstrated experience in a multi-disciplinary team, working in a fast-paced changing environment, implementing and leading innovative service delivery.
7. Demonstrated high level ability to build effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders including the ability to communicate, consult and negotiate effectively.
8. Current unrestricted NSW driver's license and the willingness to use for work purposes and work flexibility at varying sites across the district.
