Details: The Coordinator – Traditional Custodian Engagement provides administrative and cultural support to CED staff to deliver effective engagement with Traditional Custodians and the ACT First Nations community.
The role supports the delivery and ongoing operation of the Traditional Custodian Engagement function within the directorate.
Key Responsibilities

Provide administrative and cultural support for engagement activities

Assist in coordinating engagement with Traditional Custodians and First Nations community stakeholders

Support the development and delivery of culturally appropriate initiatives and services

Contribute to building and maintaining respectful relationships with community and organisations

Assist in the effective operation of the Traditional Custodian Engagement team
Eligibility/Other requirements:
Mandatory:
- This is an identified position and is only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Evidence of Aboriginality or Torres Strait Islander descent is required.

Willingness to work indoors with computers for long periods of time.

Willingness and ability to work in the field as required.
Desirable:
- A person who is of Ngunnawal descent and recognised within the Ngunnawal community.

A current Class C Drivers Licence.

Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential, a Certificate in Communications, Conservation and Land Management, Certificate in Government or similar or evidence that you are currently completing such a qualification; otherwise, previous work experience in roles of a similar nature focusing on communications, government, environment and or land management.
Note: This is a part-time temporary position (14.42 hours per week) available from 30 July 2026 to 28 January 2027, and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata. A Merit Pool may be established from this selection process and used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
