About the Role
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant delivery of Council’s water and sewer services.
You will supervise daily operations, support your team, and oversee the maintenance and performance of critical infrastructure including treatment plants, pump stations and distribution networks.
Working closely with the Manager Water and Wastewater, you will also contribute to capital works, asset management planning and continuous improvement initiatives to support sustainable service delivery for the Uralla Shire community.

We are seeking a practical, solutions-focused leader with strong technical knowledge and a commitment to safety, teamwork, and service delivery.
To be successful, you will have:
- Certificate III in Water Industry Operations and Sewer Operations (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated experience in water and wastewater operations and maintenance
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities
- Strong understanding of compliance requirements, including Australian Drinking Water Guidelines
- Experience delivering maintenance programs and overseeing infrastructure works
- Current MR licence and relevant tickets (or willingness to obtain)
Total First Year Package Value of approximately $102,344 to $108,455 plus superannuation.
Total Package Value for the role includes:
- Base salary based on a 38hr work week: $87,344 to $93,455 (depending on skills and experience)
- Initial Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
- Retention Bonus: $5,000 paid annually as a lump sum, subject to performance.
- Market Loading: $5,000 paid hourly, subject to satisfactory performance.
