The Role
The Senior Policy Officer plays a vital role within Apprenticeships Victoria. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the apprenticeship system across the state, focusing on resolving system issues, supporting senior leadership, and enhancing apprenticeship opportunities.
Main accountabilities:

Conducting research, analysing complex policy issues, and identifying emerging trends to inform policy development.

Developing policy options, drafting policy documents, and contributing to the creation of new policies or the modification of existing ones.

Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders; providing them with expert policy advice and gathering input to ensure effective policy implementation.
The Team
The position of Senior Policy Officer forms a part of the Apprenticeships Victoria branch within the Skills and TAFE group.
Skills and TAFE (ST) focuses on enabling Victorians to access the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to participate in today's workforce, prepare for future jobs, and achieve their educational aspirations.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Policy Design and Development: Formulates and communicates public policy options and recommendations; Develops a clear narrative for the policies and business cases including clear problem definition and objectives.

Policy Design and Development: Considers impact of policy to strategic plans, community needs, complementing programs and policies across the service.

Project Delivery: Defines governance e.g. success measures, roles and responsibilities, progress monitoring) required to manage risks and maximise probability of success.

A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable
