About the role
The Senior Medical Officer/Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality, cost-efficient and effective care for patients with electrophysiological and cardiovascular conditions within the Cardiology Program at The Prince Charles Hospital. Working in a busy Electrophysiology Laboratory, the role focuses on delivering specialist electrophysiology services and maintaining safe procedural practice while supporting excellent patient outcomes.
The successful candidate will manage allocated electrophysiology procedural lists, contribute to clinical education and research activities, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment. The role also supports the ongoing development of electrophysiology services through quality improvement initiatives, teaching, supervision and active participation in professional and clinical governance activities.

Provide expert clinical care and procedural management within a high-volume Electrophysiology Laboratory, ensuring safe and effective patient outcomes.
Demonstrate advanced clinical and technical expertise in electrophysiology and cardiology, delivering efficient and evidence-based care.
Participate in quality assurance, clinical governance and service improvement activities to support excellence in patient care.
Contribute to research, education and training programs, including the supervision and teaching of Fellows and Registrars.
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture of respect, teamwork and high performance across the Cardiology Program.
