Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Undertake repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance of a modern fleet of trucks, trailers, earthmoving, and auxiliary equipment.
- Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults (including use of diagnostic tools) and complete repairs of equipment in both workshop and field environments and perform non-structural fabrication and welding activities.
- Completion of accurate and timely verbal and written communication as required - examples include, but are not limited to, time sheets, work orders, service reporting and recording and processing maintenance information.
- Follow safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental Protection Agency Legislation.
- Hazard identification and completion of risk assessments to ensure own safety and contribute to a safe work environment.
Mandatory qualifications and conditions:
- Completion of an apprenticeship in a trade such as a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or similar equivalent trade certificate qualification.
- QLD Open 'C Class' Drivers Licence. The successful applicant will be required to work to obtain a HR Class Drivers Licence within a reasonable time following commencement.
- In line with the TMR Operational Employees Certified Agreement 2022, there is a requirement to periodically work a weekend roster or other roster to undertake workshop or field service activities.
- Participation in after hours call our roster is required.
- The recommended applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical as part of our selection process for this role.
- As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you may be required, or have an opportunity, to travel to other service locations to undertake workshop or field service activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel as per relevant awards/agreements.
