About the Opportunity
We are looking for a reliable and motivated Maintenance Officer / Gardener to join our Asset Maintenance team and help keep our hospital grounds safe, tidy and welcoming for patients, staff and visitors.
As the Maintenance Officer / Gardener you will be responsible for:
Maintaining hospital grounds and gardens, including mowing, pruning and waste collection and disposal.
Carrying out routine maintenance tasks, checks and inspections of plant and equipment in line with your competencies.
Assisting trade staff with minor repairs to buildings, plant and equipment including minor carpentry, painting, changing light globes and tap washers.
Assisting with cleaning of external building areas, entry points and garbage bins.
Maintaining building security by ensuring doors are locked and lighting is functional.

Our ideal candidate will:
Hold a current Class C Driver’s Licence.
Hold (or have the ability to obtain) Chemical Application Accreditation.
Have demonstrated experience in general labouring duties and minor engineering repairs.
Be able to work both independently in an outdoor environment and collaboratively as part of a team.
Have basic computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office or similar.
Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with staff across departments.
Have a commitment to workplace health, safety, and quality standards.
