About the opportunity
Join The Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use and play a key role in supporting projects that improve mental health and substance use outcomes across Australia. This role is positioned within a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, on an Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing-funded project which aims to build the capacity of the alcohol and other drug workforce to respond to mental health conditions. You will contribute to the successful delivery of research translation, communications and stakeholder engagement initiatives designed to increase the uptake and impact of evidence-based guidelines, resources and programs.
As a Project Officer, you will provide operational and project management support across a range of activities, including stakeholder engagement, communications and promotion, workshop and webinar delivery, trainer coordination, data collection and analysis, and reporting. You will work closely with researchers, tertiary education institutions, trainers and other stakeholders to ensure project activities are delivered efficiently and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will be to:
Support the development and delivery of communication, promotion and engagement activities to increase awareness, uptake and impact of evidence-based resources and programs across tertiary education and workforce settings.
Monitor project activities, including website and training performance, and make recommendations for adjustments in communication, promotion and engagement activities based on performance.
Coordinate project activities, including stakeholder engagement, webinar and workshop delivery, trainer recruitment and support, and the timely achievement of project milestones and deliverables.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with the research team and other internal and external stakeholders to support successful project outcomes.
Conduct literature reviews, collect and analyse data, conduct oral presentations and demonstrations of the program, and contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, publications and manuscripts.
Provide high-quality project administration, including organising meetings, preparing documentation, maintaining project records, taking minutes and following up action items in a timely manner.
Ensure all project activities are delivered in accordance with ethical, legal and professional standards, while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as required.
About you
Honours in Social Sciences, Behavioural Science, Public Health, Psychology, or a relevant field, with equivalent combination of training and experience.
Demonstrated experience in collecting, analysing and reporting research or program data, with the ability to prepare high-quality reports, presentations and other written outputs.
Proven ability to use data, insights and analytics to inform communication, promotion or engagement activities and evaluate their impact. Experience with Google Analytics or Power BI would be highly regarded.
Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with experience building effective relationships and engaging with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising initiative, sound judgement and problem-solving skills, with knowledge of mental health and substance use issues in Australia highly regarded.
