About the Role
St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a proactive Health and Safety Adviser to lead and elevate safety across our campuses.
As the College’s WHS specialist, you will drive the continuous improvement of our safety systems while partnering with leaders and staff to embed practical, risk-based safety practices. Working across Indooroopilly, Springfield and Ironbark, you will strengthen capability, influence culture, and ensure risks are effectively managed.
Reporting to the Director of Risk, Compliance and Assurance, this role blends strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, offering the opportunity to make a visible impact on the safety and wellbeing of our College community.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and continuously improve the College’s WHS Management System across all sites.
Partner with leaders to provide practical, risk-based WHS advice and strengthen safety culture.
Identify, assess, and manage WHS risks, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and timely corrective actions.
Deliver audits, inspections, and improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance.
Build capability through training, coaching, and safety awareness programs.
Monitor performance and provide clear insights to drive informed decision-making.
What you bring
Experience in a Work Health and Safety role, supporting the implementation and improvement of WHS systems and practices.
Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and the ability to apply it in a practical, risk-based way.
Ability to build effective working relationships and provide clear, practical safety advice.
Experience supporting incident investigations, risk management, and corrective actions.
Demonstrated involvement in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement activities.
Confident delivering training and supporting others to build safety capability.
Relevant WHS qualification (or working towards) with strong organisational and communication skills.
