About the role
The position of Co-Director of Medical Student Programs provides leadership for medical undergraduates placed at Eastern Health. In this role the position provides support for medical students, facilitates their orientation, monitors their progress, provides pastoral care, organises placements, manages examinations and manages the recruitment of tutors and co-ordinates teaching programs. Liaison with all hospitals in Eastern Health and the faculties of both Monash and Deakin Universities is an important part of the position of the Co- Director of Medical Student Programs.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
A medical degree and a specialist qualification recognised in the State of Victoria
Experience in medical education
Experience in assessment, particularly clinical assessment
Demonstration of an understanding of the needs of medical students, including international students
Ability to provide career advice and counselling to medical students, including those experiencing personal or other difficulties
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with senior and junior medical practitioners and other health professionals in hospitals and the community
Experience in effective leadership teams
Experience in health education research
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
