We're partnering with one of Australia's most respected fashion businesses to find an ambitious Junior Planner who is passionate about retail, data and commercial decision making.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an Assistant Planner or Allocator looking to step into a broader planning role where you'll gain exposure to forecasting, Open to Buy, inventory management and trading across Retail, Wholesale and Ecommerce.
Working closely with an experienced Planning Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time while helping maximise sales, profitability and inventory performance.
The Opportunity
This is a commercially focused planning position where you'll develop strong analytical capability while taking ownership of inventory performance for a growing fashion brand.
You'll be involved in everything from weekly trade reporting through to forecasting, stock allocation, replenishment and post season analysis, giving you exposure to the full merchandise planning cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Trading & Commercial Analysis
- Produce weekly and monthly sales, stock and margin reports
- Identify trading opportunities, risks and emerging sales trends
- Analyse best sellers, slow movers and overall channel performance
- Support monthly forecasting and reforecasting activities
- Assist with sales, stock and intake planning
- Complete post season performance reviews and commercial analysis
Inventory Planning & Allocation
- Allocate seasonal product across Retail and Ecommerce channels
- Monitor core product replenishment to maximise availability
- Ensure stock is optimally positioned across all channels
- Monitor inbound deliveries and coordinate product flow
Planning Support
- Support range planning with historical sales and performance analysis
- Maintain accurate planning and inventory data
- Assist with planning administration across multiple brands
- Work closely with Buying, Design, Digital and Supply Chain teams
About You
You'll already have experience within a retail planning environment and be looking for an opportunity where you can continue developing your analytical and commercial skills.
You'll bring:
- 1 to 3 years' experience in a retail head office planning function
- Experience as an Allocator or Assistant Planner
- Strong intermediate Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and data analysis
- Excellent numerical and analytical ability
- High attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, curious and commercially minded approach
- Experience within apparel or fashion retail will be highly regarded
