About the Division
The Business Services Division leads the provision of quality Academy corporate support services and functions (including procurement, program governance, human resources and culture architecture, finance, facilities management, information and audio-visual technology and risk management) which enable successful operation of the Academy. In addition, the Business Services Division is responsible for the oversight, delivery and reporting of the compliance obligations required of a statutory authority.
About the Team
The Reporting team is responsible for measuring, evaluating and reporting on the Academy's impact. The team is responsible for the management of all participant and evaluation data as well as the production of high-quality and time sensitive outputs for the Academy's government performance reporting requirements.
This includes, but is not limited to, performance data on professional learning programs and participant demographics, pathways, public awareness of and perceptions of teachers and leaders, equity of access, facility utilisation and other focus areas related to Academy legislated objectives and functions. The remit also includes managing ethics clearances, and oversight of research and evaluation contracts where applicable.
About the Role
The responsibilities of the Data Analyst, Performance and Reporting include:
- collecting, collating and analysing data to support reporting and insight generation
- developing clear, accurate and audience-appropriate reports, dashboards and visualisations
- maintaining and monitoring datasets and ensuring data quality and integrity
- supporting evaluation and research activities timelines and logistics
- working collaboratively across teams, including responding to data requests from stakeholders
- monitoring and contributing to continuous improvements practices within the Performance and Reporting function
Capabilities
- Demonstrated experience in analytical and data interpretation skills and use of data tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI or similar)
- Strong written communication and visualisation skills with attention to detail, data accuracy and audience
- Sound organisational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow processes and systems
Ability to investigate data issues methodically, apply sound judgement, develop and propose practical, evidence-informed solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification in data analytics/data science, research, and/or evaluation is desirable.
