Part-Time (0.6FTE) | 2-Year Contract

SAHMRI is seeking an Accounts Payable and Receivable Officer to join our Finance team on a part-time 0.6 FTE, 2-year contract basis.
Reporting to the Accounts Payable and Receivable Team Leader, this role will support the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, debtor management and related finance administration. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working across high-volume transactions, stakeholder communication and continuous process accuracy.
In this position, you will support both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including:
Accounts receivable
- Accurately invoice customers and receipt payments into Oracle ERP
- Import and reconcile information from subsidiary systems into the finance system
- Process recurring invoices and donations
- Liaise with SAHMRI staff to ensure revenue is charged and collected appropriately
- Verify and process credit applications
- Maintain debtor records in Oracle ERP
- Respond to debtor queries professionally and promptly
- Monitor debtor balances and follow up outstanding payments
- Assist with general ledger journals as required
Accounts payable duties include:
- Prepare and process fortnightly creditor payment runs
- Raise purchase orders and match purchase orders to invoices
- Ensure invoices are correctly approved, coded and authorised
- Prepare payment batches and bank transfers for approval
- Process and maintain corporate credit cards and employee expense claims
- Accurately process high volumes of finance data
- Prepare supplier applications
- Assist with general ledger journals as required
About You
You will be a reliable and detail-focused finance professional who enjoys working in a team environment and providing excellent service to internal and external stakeholders
To be successful, you will bring:
- Experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable within a medium to large organisation
- Strong data entry skills and high attention to detail
- Experience using financial or accounting software, ideally Oracle or SAP
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A customer-focused approach and the ability to build positive working relationships
- An understanding of creditor and debtor management
- The ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
- A willingness to learn, adapt quickly and work collaboratively
- A Certificate in Business or relevant qualification, highly regarded but not essential
