Job Duties/Essential Functions
Welcomes and communicates with members and potential members, in person, by phone, or by mail- Answers questions, resolves problems, and explains membership and warehouse
- Reviews membership and warehouse programs to keep knowledge up to date
- Processes new membership and membership maintenance according to proper departmental procedures for
paperwork and the performance of duties
- Keys membership information into computer, keeps logs and paperwork, obtains supervisor approvals when necessary
- Collects membership fees as keyed to computer by cash, and debit/credit terminal
- Issues receipts
- Provides and arranges for prompt and courteous member service
- Answers phone, runs to the floor to check item availability, directs members to products, and service locations
- Enlists assistance for member loading and shopping
- Responds helpfully to member concerns, secures manager assistance as necessary.
- Assists at refund counter or with marketing as necessary
- Cleans department, stocks forms, and cleans and supplies printers
- Follows proper Membership and general safety and security procedures and standards
- Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
- Provides prompt and courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers.
Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery
- Computer, printer, phone, camera, card printer, calculator, credit/debit terminal, cash register, handheld scanner, radio
Qualifications (Costco-specific or industry specific skills that candidates should possess)
Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher
Licenses/Certifications: Driver's Licence
Experience/Skills:Membership, cashier, customer service or comparable experience, Basic math skills
