As we continue to shape a bold vision for the future, we are seeking an outstanding primary educator to join our Junior School as Head of Student Care, a newly-devised leadership position focused on student wellbeing, behaviour, family engagement and social-emotional development across Prep to Year 6, with a particular focus on the early primary years.

The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Junior School through the Assistant Head P-2 and Assistant Head 3-6, this highly relational role combines leadership, student support and parent engagement. You will work closely with students, families and staff to foster a safe, positive and productive learning environment while building the social and emotional foundations that support lifelong success.
Key responsibilities include:

Leading behaviour management and pastoral care initiatives across the Junior School

Providing direct daily support for students in Prep to Year 2

Supporting teachers to implement consistent behaviour and wellbeing practices

Building strong partnerships with families and serving as a key pastoral contact

Monitoring student wellbeing and coordinating support plans where required

Developing and delivering social and emotional learning programs

Coaching teachers in behaviour management and student engagement strategies

Supporting student transitions and wellbeing across the Junior School

You will possess:

Queensland College of Teachers registration

Demonstrated experience in behaviour management and pastoral care within a primary school setting

Significant experience working with students in the early primary years

Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills

The ability to engage confidently and empathetically with families

Experience supporting teacher capability and classroom practice

Strong organisational and case-management skills

A calm, authoritative and relational leadership style

Postgraduate qualifications in education, leadership, learning support or related fields will be highly regarded.
