About the job
This is a genuine opportunity to build something. We’re a growing electrical and solar contracting business looking for a driven Business Development Manager to take ownership of our commercial growth — someone who comes with their own network, their own energy, and a genuine passion for building long-term client relationships.
This isn’t a corporate sales role with a big team behind you. You’ll be working directly alongside our service manager, operations manager, accounts team, and field technicians — and what you build will be visible to everyone. If that excites you rather than worries you, read on.
About the Role
Your primary focus will be growing our preventative and reactive maintenance work — building a steady, recurring client base rather than chasing one-off projects. You’ll target commercial, industrial, strata, and government clients and develop the kinds of relationships that generate consistent, reliable workflow.
What you’ll be doing:
- Identifying and pursuing new maintenance contract opportunities across commercial, strata, industrial and government sectors
- Leveraging your existing network to generate warm introductions and early pipeline
- Building and maintaining long-term client relationships that produce steady, recurring work
- Collaborating with the service and operations team to ensure seamless client onboarding and delivery
- Working with accounts and finance to ensure proposals are accurate and profitable
- Representing the business professionally at site visits, client meetings and industry events
About You
You’ve worked in electrical, solar, facilities management, or a related trade services industry. You know the language, the pain points, and the right people. More importantly, you’ve built genuine relationships along the way and you’re ready to put those to work.
You bring:
- A proven background in business development or account management within electrical, solar, FM, or trade services
- An existing network of facility managers, property managers, strata managers, council contacts or similar decision-makers
- Experience selling or positioning maintenance contracts (preventative and/or reactive)
- A collaborative, team-first attitude — comfortable working closely with operations, technicians and admin
- The ability to work autonomously and manage your own pipeline and activity
- A current driver’s licence
You’re probably:
- Currently under-utilised in a larger company where your network and effort aren’t being recognised
- Someone who wants to see the direct results of your work in a business that values your contribution
- A natural relationship-builder who earns trust quickly and keeps it long-term
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary, negotiable based on experience
- Performance-based commission structure tied to new contract wins and revenue growth
- Small, tight-knit team where your contribution is seen and valued
- Real opportunity to shape the direction of business development as we grow
How to Apply
Please send your CV and a brief cover note outlining your relevant experience and the network you’d bring to the role.
Applications that speak to your background in maintenance contract sales and your existing industry contacts will be prioritised.
