We are looking for an experienced and strategic ICT Manager to lead the planning, development, and day-to-day management of our organisation's information and communication technology systems. This role is central to ensuring our technology infrastructure supports business objectives effectively and securely. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, sound leadership capability, and the ability to translate complex ICT requirements into practical solutions. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to drive digital initiatives and maintain a reliable, secure, and efficient ICT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse organisational information needs and specify appropriate technology solutions to meet current and future business requirements
- Formulate, implement, and continuously review ICT strategies, policies, and operational plans aligned with broader organisational goals
- Direct the evaluation, procurement, and installation of ICT hardware, software, and infrastructure, ensuring value for money and fitness for purpose
- Oversee the security and integrity of all ICT systems, including risk assessments, data protection compliance, and incident response planning
- Set priorities and allocate resources across system development, maintenance, and daily operations to ensure continuity of service
- Lead and manage the ICT team, including recruitment, performance management, professional development, and workload planning
- Direct the provision of user training and technical support, ensuring staff are equipped to use systems effectively
- Manage vendor and contractor relationships, including negotiating contracts, monitoring service levels, and ensuring delivery against agreed outcomes
- Develop and manage ICT budgets, tracking expenditure and identifying opportunities for cost optimisation without compromising performance
- Oversee the implementation of new systems and technology projects, managing timelines, risks, and stakeholder communication throughout
- Ensure ICT operations comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, and internal governance frameworks
- Produce and present regular reports on ICT performance, project progress, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
- Proven experience in an ICT management or senior technical leadership role, typically five or more years
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement ICT strategies, policies, and operational frameworks
- Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity principles, and cloud-based technologies
- Experience managing budgets, vendor contracts, and procurement processes within an ICT context
- Solid understanding of data privacy legislation and information security standards, including ISO 27001 or equivalent
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop technical teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a structured approach to decision-making
- Effective communication skills, with the capacity to convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience delivering ICT projects using recognised project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 or Agile
Preferred Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in IT management, business administration, or a related field
- Relevant professional certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or equivalent
- Experience working within regulated industries or government environments
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) or customer relationship management (CRM) platforms
- Knowledge of COBIT or other IT governance frameworks
- Experience leading digital transformation or large-scale systems migration projects
