About the Role
This role leads and manages financial crime, fraud, conduct & compliance risk assessments, regulatory and policy change across the Corporate Enablement functions of Enterprise Finance, Internal Audit, Communications and Public Affairs and Legal, and partners with these Corporate Enablement functions to sustainably design and embed risk controls into business processes, systems and data.
With a focus on end‑to‑end value chains and functional risk profiles, the role provides risk insight and analysis to influence governance and decision‑making, ensures adherence to risk and compliance frameworks, and identifies and escalates control gaps where effectiveness is insufficient. The role acts as a trusted first line risk partner, managing the delivery of high‑quality first line of defence risk management and assurance, strengthening stakeholder accountability, building capability, and uplifting risk culture.

What will your day look like?
Act as a trusted first line risk partner to business stakeholders, supporting clear ownership and accountability for Financial Crime, Fraud, Conduct & Compliance Risk.
Lead and manage Financial Crime, Fraud, Conduct & Compliance Risk assessments across business processes, systems, data and end‑to‑end value chains.
Partner with business teams to design, uplift and embed sustainable Financial Crime, Fraud, Conduct & Compliance Risk controls aligned to enterprise frameworks and regulatory expectations.
Coach and develop COE team members, building capability, engagement and a strong performance culture
Support regulatory and policy change by managing impact assessments and partnering with the business to implement required changes.
Integrate financial crime requirements into business processes, with a focus on logical, practical, sequential and efficient practices that benefit the customer experience.
Prepare risk analysis, insights and materials to manage governance forums, assurance activities and influence management decision‑making.
Manage remediation planning and support delivery by working with business teams to address identified risk and control issues.
What will you bring?
Strong knowledge of Financial Crime, Fraud, Conduct & Compliance Risk management frameworks, standards and methodologies.
Strong understanding of regulatory obligations, policy requirements and regulatory change management within financial services.
Strong understanding of end‑to‑end value chains, business processes, systems and data.
Understanding of enterprise risk governance, escalation and reporting arrangements.
Strong analytical skills to assess risks, evaluate controls and identify risk themes and insights.
Sound judgement and a risk‑based mindset, balancing customer, business and regulatory outcomes.
Strong ability to interpret and translate regulatory and risk requirements into practical business outcomes.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence as a trusted Line 1 risk partner.
Strong ability to work collaboratively with peers to coordinate inputs, manage interdependencies and handoffs, and support wider delivery of governance and risk management outcomes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of materials for governance and management decision‑making.
