About Mind You Performance
Mind You Performance is a premium fitness centre delivering small group personal training, fitness coaching and health-focused services.
We are seeking an experienced Fitness Centre Manager to organise, direct and oversee the operations of our premium fitness centre while leading our team and delivering exceptional services to our members. This is a full-time leadership position responsible for the operational management, administration and ongoing development of the fitness centre. The successful applicant will also provide coaching and fitness instruction where operationally required.
Key Responsibilities
The Fitness Centre Manager will be responsible for:
- Planning, organising, directing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the fitness centre.
- Planning, developing and managing the range of fitness programs, coaching services and member offerings provided by the centre.
- Developing and implementing operational policies, procedures and service standards to ensure efficient and effective business operations.
- Organising marketing initiatives, promotional activities and community engagement programs to promote the fitness centre and attract new members.
- Planning and coordinating member events, workshops and other community-based activities.
- Recruiting, training, supervising, mentoring and performance managing fitness coaches, reception and support staff.
- Preparing staff rosters and coordinating workforce requirements to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Monitoring operational performance and implementing continuous improvements to enhance member experience and business outcomes.
- Monitoring financial performance, controlling operational expenditure and contributing to the achievement of business objectives.
- Assisting with operational budgeting, inventory management and resource planning.
- Managing memberships, administration systems and daily business operations.
- Preparing operational reports and providing recommendations to business owners.
- Liaising with suppliers and coordinating the maintenance of facilities, equipment and amenities.
- Ensuring the fitness centre complies with Workplace Health and Safety requirements and all relevant legislative and industry standards.
- Maintaining a safe, clean and professional environment for members, staff and visitors.
- Providing coaching, fitness instruction and member consultations where operationally required.
- Working collaboratively with other areas of the business to ensure an exceptional and consistent member experience.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Previous experience managing the operations of a fitness, recreation or sports facility.
- Demonstrated experience leading, supervising and developing staff.
- Strong operational planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and member experiences.

Essential Requirements
Applicants should possess either:
- An Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Fitness, Sport, Business Management or a related discipline;
OR
- A minimum of three years' relevant experience managing the operations of a fitness, health, recreation or sports facility.
Applicants should also have:
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one).
The following would be highly regarded:
- Certificate III and IV in Fitness (or equivalent).
- Experience delivering personal training or small group fitness coaching.
- Experience using membership management or gym management software.
