Project Manager
RCR Mining Technologies (RCRMT) is seeking an experienced Project Manager with estimating experience to join our Welshpool team. This is a key role responsible for managing fabrication, machining, manufacturing, refurbishment and repair projects from tender phase through to project completion, while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering positive commercial outcomes.

About the Role
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of fabrication, machining, OEM manufacturing, refurbishment and repair projects, ensuring they meet contractual, safety, quality, schedule and financial objectives. You’ll work closely with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, suppliers, subcontractors and clients to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and achieve targeted margins.
You will also play a key role in supporting business growth through estimating, tender preparation, scope development and identification of commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project planning, execution and delivery in line with scope, schedule, budget and contractual requirements
- Manage fabrication, machining, equipment manufacture, refurbishment and repair projects from tender through to closeout
- Coordinate internal and external resources including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, quality, logistics, suppliers and subcontractors
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing clear and regular project updates throughout project execution
- Monitor project performance, costs, risks, schedules and quality outcomes, implementing mitigation strategies where required
- Identify, manage and administer project variations, claims and scope changes
- Prepare and maintain project schedules, forecasts, progress reports and project documentation
- Support contract administration, invoicing, milestone claims and cash flow management
- Manage project budgets and forecasts while identifying opportunities to improve project profitability and margins
- Review RFQs, drawings, specifications and scope documents to develop accurate project estimates and pricing submissions
- Develop labour, material, subcontractor and equipment cost estimates for fabrication, machining and OEM projects
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations and support tender submissions
- Participate in tender reviews, project handovers and commercial reviews
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and growth opportunities
- Support quality inspections, MDR compilation, FAT activities and project closeout documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement through lessons learned, improved systems and operational excellence initiatives
- Ensure all projects are delivered in compliance with RCRMT HSE, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures
About You
You’re a confident and organised Project Manager with Estimating experience with strong commercial awareness and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across manufacturing and engineering environments. You are comfortable balancing active project delivery with estimating and tendering responsibilities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality and customer outcomes.
You will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent industry experience
- Knowledge of fabrication, machining and workshop manufacturing processes
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management within mining, manufacturing, fabrication, machining or heavy industrial environments
- Demonstrated experience managing fabrication, manufacturing, refurbishment or OEM projects from tender through to completion
- Proven experience in estimating, tender preparation and cost development for industrial projects
- Strong skills in budgeting, forecasting, scheduling and resource planning
- Experience managing contracts, variations, claims and commercial outcomes
- Demonstrated stakeholder, supplier and client management experience
- Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Current Western Australian Driver’s Licence
Desirable experience includes:
- Microsoft Dynamics 365
- MS Project and/or Primavera P6 scheduling tools
- Experience working within ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
