Altona North Cricket Club is seeking an experienced and reliable Turf Wicket Curator to manage and prepare our two turf cricket wickets throughout the cricket season.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality cricket wickets and can independently manage wicket preparation, maintenance and recovery across the season.
The role would suit an experienced cricket wicket curator, groundskeeper or turf professional looking for flexible seasonal work with a well-established local cricket club.

- Mowing, rolling, watering and general wicket preparation
- Manage wicket moisture and playing conditions throughout the week
- Mark creases and complete final match-day preparation
- Post-match wicket repairs and recovery
- Maintain turf health throughout the cricket season
- Assist with wicket renovation and end-of-season works where required
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust preparation accordingly
- Identify and communicate any turf, irrigation or equipment issues
- Work with club officials to coordinate match schedules and wicket usage

- Ability to work independently and manage your own preparation schedule
- Good understanding of watering, rolling and mowing requirements

Formal turf qualifications would be highly regarded but are not essential where suitable practical experience can be demonstrated.
Hours will vary depending on weather, match schedules and the stage of wicket preparation.
The role will generally require work during the week leading into weekend matches, with some Friday and/or Saturday preparation required.
There is flexibility around when much of the work is completed, making the position suitable for someone already working in turf management or looking for additional seasonal work.
