About the Role
We are looking for a qualified and passionate cook to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a great, supportive environment. Experience in a dining restaurant setting is highly regarded. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, work well with others, and be willing to learn. You must be able to multitask, remain calm under pressure, and have a very good understanding of food and all aspects of a kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
● examining foodstuffs to ensure quality.
● preparing, seasoning and cooking food.
● operating cooking equipment.
● portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes.
● storing food in temperature-controlled facilities.
● preparing food to meet special dietary requirements.
● cleaning food preparation areas.
● plan menus and estimate food requirements.
● train other kitchen staff and apprentices.
Qualifications & Skills
● Trade Qualifications: Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (or equivalent) with at least 1 year relevant experience.
● Knowledge and experience in high-volume food preparation and a fast-paced customer environment.
● High level of interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
● Proven ability to work effectively under pressure.
● Ability to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
● Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
