AB&C Building and Constructions Pty Ltd is a Queensland residential building company delivering new homes, renovations, extensions and granny-flat projects across Brisbane and surrounding South East Queensland. We are seeking a qualified Carpenter to join our construction team on a permanent full-time basis.
About the role
This is a hands-on site-based Carpenter position working across a range of residential construction projects. The successful applicant will perform qualified carpentry work through different stages of construction, including framing, roof and floor structures, lock-up, fit-out, cladding, repairs and renovations.
Key responsibilities
· Read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and installation requirements.
· Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber, plywood, lightweight steel and other construction materials.
· Construct and erect wall frames, roof framing, floor structures and other structural components.
· Install door frames, window frames, fascia, eaves, wall cladding, internal and external fixtures and other building components.
· Carry out renovations, alterations, repairs and maintenance to existing timber and building structures.
· Check levels, alignment, dimensions and structural accuracy of completed work.
· Use hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment safely and competently.
· Work effectively across active residential construction sites and coordinate with supervisors, subcontractors and other trades.
· Comply with workplace health and safety requirements, building requirements, approved plans and company procedures.
· Perform other incidental carpentry duties reasonably associated with the position of Carpenter.
Skills and experience
· Relevant AQF Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent trade qualification.
· Relevant carpentry experience, including practical on-site experience.
· Demonstrated experience in residential construction, including framing and general carpentry work.
· Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings and specifications.
· Ability to perform qualified carpentry duties competently and safely with normal site supervision, and to work as part of a construction team.
· Current Construction White Card, or ability to obtain one before commencing site work.
· Current driver licence and reliable transport to project sites.
· Good attention to detail, reliability and commitment to safe work practices.
What we offer
· Permanent full-time employment - 38 ordinary hours per week.
· $85,000 base salary per annum plus superannuation.
· Overtime, penalty rates, loadings and applicable allowances paid separately as required.
· Ongoing residential construction projects across Brisbane and surrounding South East Queensland.
