Band 7: $108,150.75 - $120,324.65 per annum + Superannuation (Pro-rata)
2 Year Fixed Term Contract - 21.6 hours per week

Are you passionate about shaping community infrastructure from the ground up? We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Social Infrastructure Project Officer to guide the early stages of our community facilities projects and ensure they begin with clarity, purpose and strong strategic alignment.
In this two year temporary role, you will play a pivotal part in defining the future of our built community assets. Working closely with internal teams, consultants and community stakeholders, you will support the scoping, feasibility and initiation phases of infrastructure including libraries and community hubs. The initial project will have a strong focus on the redevelopment of St Albans Library.
The role
- Leading project scoping, feasibility assessments and early stage planning for new community facility projects.
- Coordinating the Project Control Group (PCG) activities during the initiation phase, including preparing agendas, briefing materials and early project reporting to support informed decision making.
- Developing Business Cases, project briefs, scope documents and preliminary budgets.
- Coordinating early design inputs and ensuring alignment between user needs, technical requirements and strategic objectives.
- Facilitating stakeholder engagement and preparing high quality communication materials, including Councillor briefings and project summaries.
- Supporting procurement activities for early consultant engagement and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and frameworks.
- Providing early project reporting, risk identification and governance support to set projects up for successful delivery.
To be considered you will have
- Strong experience in project initiation, scoping or early stage planning within infrastructure, community facilities or capital works environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable documentation.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to assess options, identify risks and shape project direction.
- Sound understanding of project governance, procurement processes and financial planning.
- The ability to work collaboratively, manage competing priorities and drive outcomes in a dynamic environment.
