We are seeking an experienced and motivated Restaurant Manager to lead our operations, manage our team, and ensure the continued success and growth of our business.
This is a permanent full-time management position offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to oversee all aspects of restaurant operations while maintaining high standards of food quality, customer service and operational efficiency.
Roles and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
· Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the restaurant to ensure efficient, safe and profitable business performance.
· Coordinate and supervise restaurant operations across dine-in, takeaway, catering and online delivery services to ensure high standards of food quality and customer service.
· Work closely with the Head Chef to develop, review and update menus, including seasonal menus, promotional items and special event offerings.
· Establish, review and adjust menu pricing across all service channels, including dine-in, takeaway, catering and online delivery platforms such as Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Panda, taking into consideration food costs, competitor pricing and business profitability.
· Plan, coordinate and manage catering services, private functions, corporate events, birthday celebrations and other special occasions to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
· Monitor inventory levels of fresh produce, seafood, beverages, dry goods, packaging materials, cleaning supplies and other restaurant consumables to minimise waste and maintain efficient stock control.
· Coordinate purchasing schedules, source suppliers and negotiate pricing and supply arrangements to ensure quality products are obtained at competitive prices.
· Monitor restaurant sales, labour costs, food costs and other operating expenses, analyse financial and operational reports, and implement strategies to improve revenue, productivity and profitability.
· Prepare staff rosters and allocate duties according to business requirements while maintaining efficient staffing levels.
· Recruit, interview, induct, train, supervise and evaluate front-of-house and kitchen staff to ensure employees understand and comply with operational procedures and customer service standards.
· Conduct staff performance reviews and provide coaching, mentoring and ongoing professional development to improve employee performance and operational effectiveness.
· Manage customer reservations, coordinate seating arrangements and supervise service during busy trading periods.
· Review and respond to customer feedback received both in-store and through online delivery platforms, investigate complaints promptly and implement appropriate corrective actions to improve customer satisfaction.
· Ensure compliance with all applicable Food Safety Standards, Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation, liquor licensing requirements and company policies and procedures.
· Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, workplace safety and presentation throughout the restaurant.
· Liaise with senior management to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, increased operational efficiency and business growth.
Skills and Experience
Applicants should possess:
· An AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management or a related discipline; or equivalent qualifications recognised in Australia.
· At least three years of relevant full-time experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a comparable management role within the hospitality industry.
· Demonstrated experience managing the daily operations of a busy restaurant.
· Proven experience in staff recruitment, training, rostering, supervision and performance management.
· Experience in inventory management, purchasing, supplier negotiation and cost control.
· Strong understanding of food safety legislation, workplace health and safety requirements and liquor licensing regulations.
· Sound financial management skills, including monitoring sales performance, labour costs and operating expenses.
· Excellent leadership, organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate (or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement).
· Excellent English communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin to support the restaurant's predominantly Mandarin-speaking customer base.
