This initiative focuses on cutting edge AI-powered procurement, consisting of AI procurement orchestration and GenAI enabled sourcing. This program will fundamentally change the way Woolworths procures indirect goods and services and you will be at the forefront of this change.
The Project Manager - Smarter Procurement for the Business (SPB) is a dedicated, delivery-focused role established to drive the end-to-end execution, change management, and deployment of ProcureSMART—our new digital orchestration tool—across Woolworths Group. ProcureSMART serves as the primary gateway helping business users seamlessly navigate complex procurement processes, including contracting and placing purchase orders.
What you’ll do
-
End-to-End Rollout & Change Leadership: Lead the deployment waves of the ProcureSMART digital orchestration tool, executing robust change management strategies to transition teams from legacy processes to unified digital workflows.
-
Stakeholder & Program Governance: Chair key steering committees and status updates, managing relationships across internal business units, technical enablement leads, and external suppliers.
-
Risk Management & Issue Resolution: Conduct ongoing risk assessments to identify adoption barriers, manage hypercare close-out, and lead the prioritisation, escalation, and resolution of defects.
-
Platform Optimisation & SME Support: Act as the business Subject Matter Expert (SME) to co-design and optimise ProcureSMART, ensuring system enhancements deliver a seamless, practical user experience.
-
Value Realisation & Benefits Tracking: Establish a benefits governance framework to track platform utilisation, measure realised versus forecast savings, and minimise off-system sourcing activity.
-
Executive Reporting & Strategy: Partner with Business Unit and Group Executives to report on value delivered, alignment with the transformation business case, and future commercial uplift opportunities.
What you’ll bring
-
Enterprise Tech Rollouts: 5+ years of project management experience leading the deployment of enterprise digital orchestration tools, procurement platforms, or large-scale SaaS applications.
-
Procurement & Supply Chain Expertise: Deep understanding of core procurement processes, including end-to-end contracting, vendor management, and purchase order lifecycles.
-
Proven Change Leadership: Track record of designing and executing robust change management plans, guiding non-technical users through complex digital process transformations.
-
System Co-Design & UX Focus: Experience acting as a business Subject Matter Expert (SME) to collaborate with technical teams, translating business needs into optimised user experiences.
-
Senior Stakeholder Management: Exceptional capability to align, influence, and drive collaborative outcomes across diverse cross-functional business units and executive leadership.
-
Education & Communications: Background in developing structured digital learning pathways and knowledge portals, paired with a positive, "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude.
What you’ll experience
-
Hybrid Flexibility: Blend in-office engagement with work-from-home opportunities for a balanced work week.
-
A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.
-
Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.
-
