About the Division
The Academy Services Division provides a range of specialist services to teams across the Academy, to program participants (potential and current) and to external venue hire stakeholder to ensure an inclusive high quality professional learning or event management experience for our stakeholders. The Division's specialist areas include learning design, strategic engagement, and participant, event and program support.
About the Team
The Strategic Engagement team is responsible for leading the Academy's engagement strategy, positioning and marketing to participants (past, current and potential), and to other identified audiences as required. The team manages the Academy's brand, channels and digital presence, and develops and delivers integrated content aligned to all legislated objectives.
This team is responsible for strategic narrative, campaign execution, and publication and promotion of insights and resources. It is also responsible for developing assets to support promotion of venue hire opportunities across multiple channels and for a variety of audiences. The primary audience for the team's work includes program participants (past, present and potential), parents and program providers.
The Strategic Engagement team works in close collaboration with the OCEO for the stakeholder engagement function on shared priorities, such as, but not limited to, initiatives to raise public awareness of the status of the profession and the continued focus on the Academy's engagement with the Catholic and independent sectors.
About the Role
The Engagement Officer supports the delivery of strategic engagement, marketing and communications activities that raise awareness of the Academy's legislated objectives and priorities across the government, Catholic and independent education sectors. This role contributes to engagement activities, communication and content development, campaign delivery and brand management across multiple channels and platforms.
The responsibilities of the Engagement Officer include:
- coordinating end-to-end campaign delivery, from planning through to execution
- developing, writing and adapting content for web, email, social and paid channels
- preparing copy and messaging that translates complex educational, policy and organisational information into engaging audience-focused communications
- coordinating stakeholders, subject matter experts, inputs and approval processes
- coordinating, publishing and optimising content across digital channels
- applying digital and editorial best practice including accessibility, readability, formatting and brand standards
- monitoring campaign performance and contributing insights to optimise engagement activities.
This exciting opportunity is for 2 full-time ongoing roles.
Capabilities
- Experience supporting engagement, marketing and communications activities in a complex environment
- Strong written communication and copywriting skills with demonstrated experience developing communication products whilst adapting tone, style and messaging for different audiences and channels
- Sound organisational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
- Attention to detail and ability to follow processes and systems
- Ability to execute and adapt campaign activity across digital channels, applying best practice in content, publishing and performance optimisation.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a dynamic, high performing communications or marketing function in a large or complex organisation. Experience in content development, copywriting and communications would be highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of communications and marketing best practice and trends, including digital and traditional channels, as well as media engagement is essential.
- A tertiary qualification in communications, marketing or similar is desirable.
