We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to oversee Mechanical & Piping packages. In this role, you will lead the coordination and delivery of a defined package of works, ensuring it is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. You will work closely with the Construction Manager and multidisciplinary teams to achieve successful project outcomes.
The Project
The project includes the design, construction, operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels, seawater intake system, a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant, groundwater system, drinking water storage and pump system, supported by civil, electrical and bulk earthworks.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead and coordinate Mechanical & Piping work packages to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget delivery

Drive strong safety, environmental, and risk management practices across all site activities

Manage procurement processes including RFQs, contractor evaluation, and supplier selection

Review and implement construction methodologies, work packs, and temporary works

Plan and control project schedules, including critical path and risk mitigation

Oversee construction delivery, subcontractor performance, and quality assurance processes

Monitor project costs, manage forecasts, and report on financial performance

Lead, mentor, and develop engineering team members while supporting continuous improvement
Required Skills and Competencies

Minimum 10 years' experience
-
Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline)

Proven experience in a Senior Project Engineer / Package Manager role

Strong background in mechanical and piping works on major infrastructure projects

Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, procurement, and delivery

Strong commercial, scheduling, and risk management skills

Experience with project planning tools (e.g. Primavera P6)

Ability to lead teams and drive performance outcomes
