Established in 1982, Alzheimer’s WA (AWA) is a leading organisation dedicated to providing comprehensive care, support, awareness and information for individuals living with dementia, as well as their families and carers. We are excited to announce an opportunity for a proactive and skilled Systems Administrator to join our team at AWA. In this crucial role, you will optimise the performance and maintenance of our systems and technology infrastructure. You will collaborate with our team to identify areas for improvement, implement innovative solutions, and ensure the reliability and security of our IT environment.
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
· Postgraduate degree in Information Technology.
· At least 1 year of experience in a Systems Administrator or similar IT infrastructure support role.
· Familiarity with systems such as Nightingale, scheduling/rostering, finance/payroll systems, AlayaCare, or similar client management and service delivery platforms, particularly in aged care, community services, disability, or health sectors.
· Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.
· Proven track record in supporting, troubleshooting, and maintaining business systems.
· Experience with data integrity, security, backup, and recovery solutions, along with strong troubleshooting capabilities.
· Strong technical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
· Systems Administration: Design, configure, and support core business systems like Nightingale and AlayaCare, while ensuring their reliability and performance.
· User Access Management: Oversee user account creation, permission settings, and access levels to uphold security and access controls.
· Security Assurance: Engage in activities to bolster infrastructure security, including implementing access control measures, network security protocols, encryption techniques, and handling vulnerability remediation.
· System Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Conduct testing, debugging, and tracking of database systems and upgrades, perform system updates, and manage disaster recovery plans.
· Vendor Collaboration: Work with external vendors to resolve technical issues and manage relationships with security vendors and service providers to ensure adherence to performance standards.
· Data Integrity & Reporting: Monitor and validate database integrity, perform data cleansing, and ensure accurate data is available for reporting and analysis.
· Record Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including procedures, configuration records, operational runbooks, and infrastructure diagrams.
Responsibilities include:
· Collaborating with internal teams and external technology providers to troubleshoot issues, manage user access, and maintain system configurations to ensure operational requirements are met.
· Keeping system configurations, change logs, procedures, and user documentation up to date to support system integrity and effective management.
· Offering technical support and guidance to employees by assisting teams with system-related issues, including scheduling, rostering, client management, invoicing, expenses, billing and staff management functions, as well as addressing system inquiries.
· Identifying opportunities for improving system functionality, processes, efficiency, and testing of system enhancements.
