General Industries - Trade Overseer
Location: Wellington Correctional Centre
Employment type: Ongoing, Full Time 5D (5 days)
Salary: $97,285 pa + Incidental Allowance + Leave Loading + Superannuation
We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Tradespeople with any of the following trade qualifications in Carpenter (Building/Construction), Mechanic, Fitter, Turner/Machinist, Welding/Boiler Making, Print with Print/Cut UV, LED Printer experience, Flexographic, Off-set Printing, Digital Printing and Graphic Design, Horticultural, Landscaping, Baking or Commercial Cookery or food related, Laundry Operations and/or Cleaning Operations to work at our General Industries Unit at the Wellington Correctional Centre.
Your Role:
You will supervise and develop inmates through managing, coaching, instructing, and encouraging them, as members of a team, in order that they may improve their work skills, enhance their post-release employment prospects, and contribute productively to Service/Business Unit objectives.
Oversee the activities of the team to ensure productivity efficiency and other commercial objectives are achieved whilst ensuring all Workplace Health & Safety, Quality Management requirements and customer service needs are met.
The Successful candidates are provided with paid training to undertake Certificate III in Correctional Practice at an allocated Corrective Services Academy training facility.
Qualifications Required:
Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or the capacity to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice in accordance with specified CSNSW timeframes
Current NSW Driver Licence and preparedness to drive a vehicle while performing the role.
Relevant trade qualifications: Minimum Cert III in any of the following trades: Carpenter (Building/Construction), Mechanic, Fitter, Turner/Machinist, Welding/Boiler Making, Print with Print/Cut UV, LED Printer experience, Flexographic, Off-set Printing, Digital Printing and Graphic Design, Horticultural, Landscaping, Baking or Commercial Cookery or food related, Laundry Operations and Cleaning Operations.
Forklift license desired, but not essential.
Essential Requirements:
Proven post trade experience
Experience which demonstrates the ability to meet the key accountabilities and focus capabilities as detailed in the role description
Ability and willingness to work across facility maintenance trades as required
Willingness to participate in cyclic after hours on call roster
