We’re Merchant 1948 – a New Zealand family business putting shoes on feet since 1948. With over 30 stores across Aotearoa and Melbourne, we’ve built a reputation for premium leather footwear, considered design, and warm, expert service.

Our stores are more than retail spaces, they’re places where generations of customers come for timeless style, great craftsmanship, and genuine connection.

We’re looking for a sales-driven and motivated part-time Keyholder to join our team at Merchant Melbourne Central store. If you’re confident on the shop floor and ready to take on a bit more responsibility like opening or closing the store and supporting operations when the manager’s away – this is the perfect next step in your retail career.

You’ll be part of a team that knows their stuff, loves what they do, and takes real pride in helping people find their perfect fit.

Here’s what’s on offer:

Role: Keyholder
Rostered Hours:
- Friday: 11am - 6pm
Minimum Hours: 7.5 hours per week
Hourly Rate: $28.89 + bonus potential !

What your day will look like:

Creating exceptional experiences for every customer
Supporting with opening and closing the store
Running smooth and successful shifts
Reaching your sales goals (and enjoying the bonus rewards!)
Keeping the store tidy, stylish and well-presented
Being a positive, proactive team player

Have experience in customer service (retail, hospitality or similar)
Are confident, responsible and happy to lead by example
Have a natural way with people and love building rapport
Are organised and calm under pressure
Have a great eye for detail and presentation
