Full Job Description

Roche Bobois is preparing to open its new Melbourne showroom in Cremorne in October 2026. We are seeking an experienced and design-focused Sales & Design Consultant to join the founding showroom team.

This is an exciting opportunity to represent one of the world’s leading luxury furniture and interior design brands and help establish Roche Bobois in the Melbourne market.

About the role

Reporting to the Showroom Manager, you will guide clients through the complete Roche Bobois experience, from welcoming them into the showroom and understanding their lifestyle and design needs to presenting our collections, developing tailored proposals, closing sales and managing each order through to delivery.

You will work with private clients, interior designers, architects and other design professionals across residential and commercial projects. You will also introduce clients to our interior design service and use Roche Bobois digital design tools to help bring their projects to life.

Key responsibilities

Deliver a warm, knowledgeable and highly personalised showroom experience
Understand clients’ functional, aesthetic and budget requirements
Present Roche Bobois furniture, materials, finishes and customisation options
Prepare quotations and proposals and confidently guide clients through the sales process
Develop long-term relationships with clients, interior designers, architects and other industry professionals
Follow up enquiries and maintain an active sales pipeline
Manage client orders from confirmation through to delivery
Assist with space planning and interior design presentations for residential and commercial projects
Maintain excellent product knowledge and stay informed about design trends and new collections
Contribute to showroom presentation, events and business-development activities
Work collaboratively with the showroom and operations teams to deliver an exceptional client experience

About you

At least two years’ experience in premium or high-end furniture sales, luxury retail, interior design or a comparable client-facing environment
A genuine passion for furniture, interiors, art and contemporary design
Confidence engaging with a discerning, design-conscious clientele
Strong sales ability and a proven commitment to achieving targets
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills
Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple priorities
Strong attention to detail and a polished, professional presentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, 20/20 or similar design software would be highly regarded
Existing relationships within Melbourne’s interior design, architecture or property community would be an advantage

Availability

The Melbourne showroom will trade seven days a week. Regular weekend availability will be required. The successful candidate should ideally be available to commence before or around the showroom’s anticipated opening in October 2026 to complete training and showroom preparations.
