We're looking for an experienced Food Technologist / NPD Technician to join our New Product Development team. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the full product development lifecycle, helping bring premium food products to market while ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality, food safety and commercial success.
About the Role
Working closely with our NPD, QA, Procurement, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams, you'll play a key role in delivering new product launches from initial concept through to first production.
You'll coordinate projects, develop recipes, manage product trials, document commercialisation activities and ensure every milestone is delivered on time.
No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys both hands-on product development and project coordination.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the creation of new product concepts and presentation samples.
- Coordinate commercial product trials from planning through to production.
- Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product specifications.
- Work closely with QA to support HACCP requirements, validation and food safety activities.
- Coordinate ingredient sourcing and packaging requirements for trials.
- Conduct product evaluations including sensory, shelf-life and microbiological testing.
- Complete commercialisation documentation and maintain project records.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders to keep projects on track.
- Analyse ingredient changes and support cost optimisation opportunities.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and product development.
About You
You'll be someone who enjoys solving problems, loves working with food and has the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Ideally you'll have:
- A degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline preferred but not essential.
- Previous experience in a Food Technologist, NPD Technologist or Product Development role within food manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of food safety, HACCP and quality systems.
- Experience managing product trials and commercialisation activities.
- Excellent project coordination and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
- High attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.
- Experience using ERP systems (such as eSuite or similar) would be advantageous.
