Full time, fixed term position until October 2027

Lead and inspire a high-performing education support team supporting the delivery of education in the Faculty of Medicine and Health

Partner with academic leaders to drive operational excellence, service innovation, and continuous improvement across the Schoo l of Medical Sciences

Base Salary starting at $131,108 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunit y

The Faculty of Medicine and Health is committed to transforming healthcare through excellence in education, research, and clinical practice. As one of Australia's leading health faculties, we are shaping the future of healthcare by developing outstanding graduates, advancing research, and strengthening partnerships across the health sector.

We are seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to join our Education Portfolio as Manager, Education Support. In this pivotal role, you will provide strategic a nd operational leadership to the education support team within the School of Medical Sciences, ensuring the effective delivery of educational programs and services while driving continuous improvement and service excellence.

T here is a requirement for this position to be on-site a minimum of 4 days a week, with a 1 day a week hybrid working. Hybrid working options will be decided with your manager if you are successful in this position .

Please note that these roles are not open to current University of Sydney students .

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced people leader who thrives in complex environment s, enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, and is passionate about supporting high-quality education outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

lead and develop a high performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and service excellence

drive the implementation of education strategies, policies, and initiatives aligned with Faculty and University priorities

partner with academic leaders to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and enhance program performance

monitor operational outcomes, manage risks, and develop solutions to complex challenges impacting program delivery

build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders across the Faculty of Medicine and Health and the broader University community

oversee education administration, compliance, reporting, governance, and record management activities

champion a student-centred approach to service delivery and operational excellence.

About you

significant leadership experience managing professional teams and delivering high-quality operational outcomes

demonstrated success implementing strateg ic initiatives and translating organisational priorities into effective local practices

exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across diverse groups

experience leading change, improving processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives

strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities

excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to provide advice to senior leaders

experience within higher education, health, or other large and complex organisations will be highly regarded

a commitment to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture .
