What you'll be doing

As the Patient Liaison & Admissions Officer, you will be an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality administrative and patient-focused support to ensure the smooth operation of services across a 24-hour rotating roster.

You will work closely with patients, nursing, medical and administrative staff to create admissions for emergency department patients including domestic & international patients, review health fund eligibility checks, manage patient enquiries and maintain accurate patient records. Acting as a key communication link between patients, carers and healthcare teams, you will help ensure patients experience a seamless and supportive journey through the service.

Working in a busy healthcare environment, you will collaborate with colleagues across shifts to manage competing priorities, respond to operational demands and proactively resolve issues. You will contribute to a positive team culture by sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, maintaining effective communication and participating in continuous improvement initiatives.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Well-developed computer skills including accurate data entry skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Ability to be self-motivated with good time management skills.
