About the Role
As the Relationship Executive at BOQ, you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing our relationship‑led banking strategy to life. This role sits at the heart of our commitment to building long‑term partnerships with our customers, helping them achieve their ambitions while delivering sustainable, responsible growth for the bank. Managing a portfolio of commercial clients across key industry segments, you’ll take ownership of the end‑to‑end customer relationship - from origination and structuring through to ongoing portfolio management and advocacy.
You’ll work closely with customers to truly understand their businesses, financial objectives and future plans, using this insight to design tailored banking solutions that support their growth. At BOQ, we believe great outcomes come from deep relationships, not transactions, and this role is critical in strengthening customer trust, retention and advocacy. You’ll partner with internal specialists across credit, product, operations and risk to deliver seamless experiences, while maintaining disciplined portfolio management, strong compliance standards and sound risk outcomes.
Beyond managing your own portfolio, you’ll contribute to the strength of the broader team by coaching and mentoring Analysts and peers, sharing your expertise and helping lift capability across the business. You’ll also be an ambassador for BOQ’s brand in the market, building referral networks and representing the bank at industry events. Every interaction you have will reflect BOQ’s purpose of building social capital through banking - creating value not just for our customers, but for the communities and industries we serve.
About You
You’re a relationship‑driven commercial banker who believes the best results come from truly understanding your customers and earning their trust over time. You bring solid experience in commercial or business banking, with the ability to originate, structure and manage lending solutions while balancing growth, risk and customer outcomes. Confident working with financials and credit, you’re comfortable navigating complex deals and partnering with risk and credit teams to achieve sustainable outcomes.
You’re commercially astute, proactive in identifying opportunities and naturally curious about your customers’ businesses and industries. At the same time, you value discipline and accountability, taking pride in maintaining portfolio quality, meeting compliance obligations and delivering on commitments. You communicate with confidence, build credibility quickly and enjoy collaborating with a broad range of stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Above all, you’re aligned to BOQ’s values and purpose. You lead with integrity, optimism and accountability, and you care deeply about making a positive impact for customers, colleagues and communities. You enjoy developing others, contributing to a strong team culture and being part of a bank that is proudly relationship‑focused, human and different by design.
