The Dermatology Research position at Royal North Shore Hospital (RNSH) offers a unique opportunity for junior doctors and research-focused clinicians to develop expertise in clinical research while working alongside leading dermatologists and academic researchers.
Based within a major tertiary referral hospital, this role provides exposure to a broad range of dermatological conditions, including inflammatory skin disease, skin cancer, complex medical dermatology and emerging therapeutic treatments. What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the role is to provide effective clinical management of Dermatology patients, under appropriate supervision, whilst developing expertise in medical practice, in a complex clinical environment. The Trainee is the key person who works closely with all members of a multi-disciplinary team and deals with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature, whilst exercising discretion, sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality.
Decision making and supervision will be at the appropriate level according to the doctor's skills, knowledge and experience. The medical officer will be expected to adopt a progressively more independent approach to patient management according to their experience, under the guidance of and at the discretion of the appropriate Attending Medical Officer (AMO). All patients managed within the hospitals of the health service are under the direct care of a specialist medical practitioner. All decisions regarding their care are to be clearly communicated with the specialist responsible for that care.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
To be employed by NSW Health, applicants must provide evidence of vaccination and comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy Directive (PD2024_015). Compliance with this policy, including any amendments made from time to time, is a mandatory condition of employment.

This position requires a Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance issued by Service NSW. A current and valid WWCC is a mandatory requirement for appointment to this role.
