The Role
We have an exciting temporary full-time Principal Advisor, Educator Capability position available until 30 June 2027 (unless otherwise determined) to join our Educational Quality team at TAFE Queensland's South Bank Campus.
As a Principal Advisor, Educator Capability, you will:
Provide strategic leadership within the Educator Capability team to shape and embed innovative, contemporary learning, teaching and assessment practice across the organisation.
Lead the development and implementation of new and existing learning and teaching programs, ensuring alignment with current and future focused practice, while providing specialist advice and governance oversight to drive continuous improvement.
Lead, mentor and support new educators through targeted professional learning and coaching, with the capacity to undertake training and assessment within the Training and Assessment Training Package where required to support organisational capability and compliance.
This position reports to the Director, Educational Quality and Capability
Salary
The salary range for a Principal Advisor, Educator Capability is $135,669.51 - $145,293.84 (gross) per annum plus superannuation contributions of 12.75% of your salary.

Key responsibilities
Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Showing Initiative, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer and Taking Responsibility.
Lead the design, development and implementation of educator capability and professional development programs, to continuously improve teaching practice and build a skilled, future-ready VET educator workforce, ensuring training delivery meets industry needs and that staff maintain current vocational and teaching expertise.
Lead high-quality, innovative teaching and assessment practices by embedding best-practice standards (aligned with TAFE Queensland's Educator Capability Framework), promoting inclusive, technology-enhanced pedagogy, and ensuring compliance with RTO regulatory standards to drive excellent student outcomes.
Provide strategic guidance to senior staff, ensuring advice is informed by evidence and analysis to support projects, initiatives and organisational decision making in relation to educator capability.
Lead the integration and governance of educational technologies and virtual learning, ensuring online, blended and digital delivery models enhance teaching quality, assessment integrity and learner outcomes.
Manage the planning, development, quality assurance and continuous improvement of professional development resources, ensuring stakeholder needs are met in a timely, professional and accurate manner.
Lead and influence a culture of scholarship in learning and teaching, supporting communities of practice and fostering reflective, evidence based and innovative approaches to learning, teaching and digital delivery.
Manage the Educator Capability team, including performance development and capability uplift, ensuring delivery of high quality outcomes aligned with organisational priorities.
Lead the planning, monitoring and evaluation of educator capability initiatives, including the use of data and insights to inform continuous improvement, measure impact and support organisational reporting requirements.
Contribute to statewide initiatives and committees ensuring alignment of regional activities with organisational strategy and priorities.
How you will be assessed
Within the context of the role description above, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic leadership in educator capability and professional learning, setting direction and leading region-wide initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in educator capability, engagement with professional learning opportunities, and organisational performance.
Demonstrated experience leading the strategic integration and governance of educational technologies and digital delivery, ensuring the innovation, quality, consistency, and effectiveness of online, blended, and digital delivery models, that strengthen teaching practice, support assessment integrity and improve learner outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to influence and sustain a culture of scholarship in learning and teaching, including leadership of communities of practice and promotion of reflective, innovative and evidence based approaches.
Demonstrated experience leading and managing a specialist team to deliver strategic outcomes, through effective people management, performance development, capability uplift and the consistent delivery of high quality outcomes aligned to organisational priorities.
Demonstrated commitment to organisational values and the promotion of a strong safety culture.
Mandatory Requirements
TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or its successor; or
TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training; or
TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development; or
Highly Desirable
Candidates who possess the following will be highly regarded:
Possession of a higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training. (e.g. Bachelor of Adult and Vocational Education)
Extensive experience teaching in a tertiary environment; as a minimum, 5 years of experience
