The McPherson Media Group (MMG) is looking for a highly motivated Editor to take the reins of the Shepparton News, one of regional Victoria’s most established and trusted news brands.

The Opportunity
As Editor, you will lead the daily editorial direction and performance of the Shepparton News newsroom. Working closely with the Chief Content Officer, you will deliver journalism that is relevant, engaging and impactful, while utilising data analytics and audience segmentation to drive subscriber growth and retention.
You’ll lead a talented editorial team, shape a modern newsroom culture and build staff capability by championing digital ways of working using an agile digital publishing model that leverages multimedia content production and modern tools to streamline routine tasks.

Editorial Leadership: Driving high-quality, and impactful local coverage.
- Digital Transformation & Innovation: Championing new editorial workflows and modern digital publishing practices.
- Data-Led Content Strategy: Utilising advanced analytics and performance monitoring to inform content decisions, optimise audience engagement and grow subscriptions.
- Team Development & Mentoring: Upskilling staff to build their confidence in using modern digital tools and expanding their multimedia capabilities.
- Community Connection: Maintaining the trusted, local heartbeat of the Shepparton News across all platforms.
