If you take pride in delivering friendly, attentive service and want your work to genuinely matter to the people around you, these two part-time Catering Attendant roles within the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) are worth your attention.
What You'll Be Doing
Preparing and distributing meals and beverages to patients in accordance with dietary requirements and care plans
Maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic catering environment consistent with SA Health food safety standards
Communicating warmly with patients, nursing staff, and colleagues to ensure meal service runs smoothly across the ward
Supporting general kitchen duties including equipment cleaning, stock rotation, and waste management
Two Positions Available
Position P54444 — Rostered across 7 days, working alternate weekends, shift hours 07:00–15:30
Position M58373 — Rostered across 7 days, working alternate weekends, shift hours 06:00–14:30

What You'll Bring
Experience in a food service, hospitality, or catering environment
A current Food Safety certificate or the ability to obtain one promptly
An understanding of safe food handling and hygiene practices in a regulated setting
Reliability and flexibility to meet a rotating roster including early starts and weekend shifts
A genuine commitment to patient-centred service — consistent with NALHN's values of care, respect, and integrity
Clear and considerate communication skills when working with patients who may be unwell or have complex dietary needs
About You:
In this role you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills which will enable you to successfully problem solve, resolve conflicts and negotiate, including the ability to engage in difficult conversations, whilst building and maintaining relationships. An ability to effectively manage multiple, diverse and competing priorities and demonstrated resilience within a stressful and complex environment is essential to this role.

Our Local Health Network Sites and Services:
NALHN provides a range of hospital (inpatient), outpatient, community and home-based services across multiple sites in Adelaide’s north and north-eastern suburbs, including Aboriginal health, mental health, and GP services.
Lyell McEwin Hospital – the major hospital in northern Adelaide for emergency care, complex and multi-day surgery, medicine, obstetric, paediatrics and outpatient services.
Modbury Hospital – a general hospital with emergency care, elective surgery, medicine, outpatient and sub-acute services, rehabilitation, geriatric and palliative care.
Mental Health Services – adult and older persons mental health services and statewide forensic mental health services, across hospital and community settings.
Watto Purrunna Aboriginal Primary Health Care Services – provides culturally responsive primary healthcare services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in-hospital and across four community sites.
Primary Health Care Services – including GP Plus sites at Elizabeth, Modbury and Gilles Plains.
