Hours per week: 38 hpw
Hourly Rate: School Officer Level 3 - $34.19 to $35.64 per hour (pending experience)

About us

The Cathedral College, is a Catholic, co-educational, Secondary, Boarding College with Catholic Education in the Diocese of Rockhampton. The College aims to deliver a holistic Catholic Education where academic excellence goes hand in hand with spiritual, emotional, physical, cultural and social development.

The College is built in the shadow of St Joseph’s Cathedral and welcomes 189 Boarders from across Central Queensland and beyond, enriching the College community. 1330 students are enrolled and all are invited to respond to Jesus Christ’s message to ‘come live life in all its fullness’.

Girls' Boarding is located a short distance from the College in Agnes Street and Boys’ Boarding is situated on the College site in Derby Street. Our Boarders are an integral part of the College and enrich College life.

Your Role

The Cathedral College is seeking an organised, efficient, and energetic person to join the Communications team as a Communications Officer. This is a term-time continuing position (38hpw) for commencement as soon as possible or as negotiated with the successful applicant.

The Communications Officer assists with supporting the communication and engagement functions of the College. This position fosters and maintains relationship and communications with current families, students, staff and the wider community, while also assisting with marketing and promotions activities to families prospective to the College.

This position requires a proactive individual who values attention to detail, can manage a variety of administrative tasks in a school environment to ultimately support opportunities for young people to flourish.

About you

The successful applicant will have an understanding of, and a commitment to, the values of Catholic education. In addition, you will have excellent time management skills, well developed interpersonal skills and a high proficiency of computer skills. Experience with marketing, content creation and social media management, using platforms such as Wix, Adobe Indesign, Photoshop and Facebook would be advantageous.

Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. We value individuals who are committed to continuous growth and are eager to learn and contribute to our educational communities.
