Your new role
Join our Waste Services team and play a vital role in the safe, efficient and environmentally responsible operation of our waste and recycling facilities.
In this hands-on role, you'll operate a range of heavy plant and equipment, assist customers, support recycling initiatives and help maintain a clean and safe facility for the community. Every day will bring variety as you balance plant operations, facility maintenance, customer service and compliance activities. This is a great opportunity to apply your technical skills while making a meaningful contribution to essential community services.
This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Extensive experience operating and maintaining heavy plant and equipment, with the ability to work safely and effectively in a waste management or similar operational environment.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with members of the public, contractors and colleagues.
- A safety-focused mindset, including experience following WH&S procedures, conducting risk assessments and identifying and reporting hazards.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, make sound decisions and work effectively within a team environment.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with a willingness to undertake a variety of duties including plant operation, facility maintenance, recycling activities, weighbridge operations and general labouring tasks.

- Experience operating and maintaining heavy plant and equipment, including relevant licences and tickets (specifically in a Waste management environment).
- Ability to work in a waste disposal environment, including outdoor duties, site maintenance, gardening and general labouring tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively when working with members of the public, contractors and team members in a busy operational environment.
