Job Description:
Prepare surfaces to be painted by washing, sanding, scraping, filling cracks and
repairing minor defects.
Apply paints, varnishes, stains, sealants and protective coatings to internal and
external surfaces using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
Select, mix and match paints and materials according to project specifications and
client preferences.
Deliver interior painting services for homes and commercial spaces, ensuring clean
lines and quality finishes.
Deliver exterior painting services, enhancing curb appeal and protecting building
structures.
Perform specialised finishes including colour washes, faux finishes or decorative
techniques as required.
Restore and refinish wooden surfaces, decks and fences with staining or protective
coatings.
Ensure all painting jobs are completed to high-quality standards within timeframe
and budget.
Maintain painting equipment, tools and materials, including proper cleaning and
storage.
Communicate professionally with clients to interpret requirements and provide advice
on colours, textures and finishes.
Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety procedures at all times,
maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Uphold company standards of workmanship, professionalism, courtesy and respect
for client property.
Qualifications & Experience:
Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent trade qualification) or
extensive experience in lieu of.
Minimum 1 years of relevant painting experience in both residential and commercial
settings.
Demonstrated experience in surface preparation, paint application and finishing
techniques.
Experience working with clients on site and delivering high-quality paint finishes.
Experience using a range of painting tools and equipment.
Experience managing multiple painting projects simultaneously.
Commitment to ongoing education and self-improvement within the painting trade or
related areas.
Proficiency with technology and comfort using software to manage work.
Ability to work as part of a team and mentor junior team members.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship, ensuring precision and a high-quality
outcome.
Excellent communication skills to work directly with clients and team members.
Ability to manage time, priorities and workloads effectively.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Understanding of workplace health and safety obligations and safe work practices.
Valid Driver Licence with clean driving record.
Blue Card and completed Safety Course.
Ability to work across varied job sites and adapt to changing site conditions.

Pay: $40.00 – $50.00 per hour
